I have seen this collection (plus a lot of uniform photo's) from a survivor of the
U85, sunk off N Carolina in 1942. I have looked for the badge/patch on several trade sites, but cannot find them. Any ideas please?

Doh!!! Thanks Steve, I thought I was losing it, and now I know I am!!! Too many late nights! I'm guessing sports badge then. The only other one I have seen by Wernstein has a diferent maker name layout and didn't have the swastica though. Is that a KM dog tag?

Collectors Guild will surely have them, or at least the metal 'German
Sports Badge' type. They were made in a couple of versions:
without swastika (early), with swastika, and a type for
war disabled, which are rather rare.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
