    I've found this group picture wuth my grandfather on in a couple of years ago, and I've posted it in another forum too.
    The men wear quite unusual uniforms, take a look.

    I don't know the year or location of this pic, the man on the far right seems to be member of the 2nd Kavallerie-Regiment.

    I would date the photo to 1939/1940.

    Use of converted Czech and Austrian uniforms usually date from this period when the Heer expanded with new men from Austria and the Sudentenland. They did not have stocks of German made uniforms until industry caught up. After that these unifoms tended to get relegated to 2nd line troops and foreign volunteer units.
