    I have seen this for sale and have no idea what it is. Nothing like it on any of the trade sites. With the left swastica reversed I am sceptical anyway, but thought I'd ask. It was a vet pick up.

    I think maybe it's a Wehrmacht signals patch. Looks bad.

    It is a fake Heer Standard bearers sleeve insignia.

    Originals were only made in Bevo machine woven form.

    Cheers, Ade.

    The vet must have picked it up in a period long after he had finished serving, as it's a fake, as Ade posted.

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.

    I know we have some good originals posted on the forum as one member was lucky enough to find a small hoard of them. By the way, the flag came in different waffenfarbe colours. White for Inf, pink for Panzer et al..

    Cheers, Ade.

    Post 3 from Adrian needs to be corrected.
    The flag bearer's arm patches were mainly manufactured in BeVo-style, but handembroidered ones did exist.
    They were for example offered by the concern of J.F. Riedeler in their November 1937-cataloque:
    handgestickte Fahnenträgerabzeichen were indicated as "Extra";
    the woven version was indicated as "Dienst", so for the regular service-uniform.

    I did not say the patch shown was an original.
    I just corrected what Adrian said: "Originals were only made in BeVo machine woven form"!
    It is a general thought they were only manufactured in BeVo, but old catalogues state otherwise.
