I believe certain Medics (Sanitäter) carried two with them. This type of armband would have been worn by someone pressed into service to remove the wounded from the battlefield or behind the lines. They are worth a good buck.

It is nice original Hilfs-Krankenträger armband and in my opinion, it is not that common, less common than it's red cross counterpart or several other armbands worn within the Wehrmacht. It is a great item that was very often worn by soldiers known for doing their duty selflessly.
