Article about: Heres a group of patches I bought in Bastogne from a freind who owns a shop there. The 2 Cav patches and the color patches I have not identified yet along with the grey one. Anyone have any

    Heres a group of patches I bought in Bastogne from a freind who owns a shop there. The 2 Cav patches and the color patches I have not identified yet along with the grey one. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Mate,

    Horse shoe is farrier and the B is pigeon post master acording to the good old Brian L Davis (Page 79). The coloured one is mountian troops (Gebirgsjager)

    collar tabs are for an army infantry enlisted man and the patch is luftwaffe or air force flight personnel,,,

    The one with the wings is a trade badge for flying personnel.

    Hello,
    The Edelweiss is for Gebirgsjäger troops, actually it is upside down in your photo. Litzen are not meant for Infanterie only but are M38 all branches of service Litzen, superceeding Litzen with Waffenfarbe. The two trade patches are not cavalry but all branches of service as well. They all came in yellow embroidery, first on dark green backing, and later on feldgrau backing.
