2nd EPack mark......"Transitional"

3rd and last maker mark used by EPack. I feel that the marks were used in this order due to the parts make-up of 2 examples I have seen as well as a 2nd luft using the same mark. Puts the mark in the time frame I feel it was used.

A few more EPacks in my collection.....

Although I collect only selected Army daggers these days, I did get a 2nd Luft to add to my EPack Army Collection. Came from a good friend that parted with it after much deliberation (and for that I thank him!). The 2nd Luft is the BEST example I've ever seen (and I owned a large 2nd Luft collection at one time). CLASSIC EPack from the fittings to the scabbard and beautiful workmanship.
I will venture to say that this was made early in the 2nd Luft manufacturing run by EPack due to it's workmanship.....CLASSIC

WOW!
How many of these you own?
I own quite a few of the EPacks, aluminum fitted types by 8 different makers, as well as an assortment of others by various makers. ALL, what I consider scarce or rare, from what I've seen the last 40 years. DJ
DJ, Not only is your collection outstanding but the images that you generously share are a very valuable reference. I think that it is perfectly natural that advanced collectors become more selective & will inevitably specialise in types of collectable or certain makers.
Pack made a very superior product IMO & there are others too that frequently display better quality than Eickhorn in the early period.
Not taking anything away from Eickhorn as a producer of consistent quality but a sophisticated collector has an eye for detail.
Thank you
truly the best daggers ive seen thank you.
Denny - youve got the market cornered on these beauties
