Hi Danny, so this is your Eickhorn dagger with hard to find 3 pattern crossguard! You are very lucky, because this dagger is really fantastic and in perfect condition - I like deep orange color. It is nice to see all Eickhorns together, now you can focus to another producers, because you are in finis with Eickhorn
Thanks for showing this wonderful Eickhorns to us!
Best regards Peter
Good grief I feel like a 10 yr old in a candy shop looking through the glass at all those yummy different colored grips!! amazing photo's and daggers, I have an Eickhorn type 4 that was one of my first daggers I bought, even though it isnt worthy enough to be in the same thread as yours here it is anyway LOL
I like all Eickhorn daggers Maximus so thanks for posting yours. Those hangers you got with it are also very nice. From the pictures I would say they are the early heavy brass type. Not easy to come by these days.
Here are some extra pictures of the ivory grip dagger as Wolfgang requested.
Danny
Thank you for taking the time to photograph the ivory grip Ger. It is a wonderful example with just enough patina to show the grain. This combined with the absolutely breathtaking blade would make it a highlight of any collection. Wow!!!!!
Wolfgang
Thank you dr73 for sharing the pic's of the 4 types. I have never seen them all in one shot to compare the differences in the cross guard. Along with the subtle changes in the feather design/arrangement on the wing and breast of the eagle, I notice the the wreath also gets more detailed going from 1 to 4 but tend to go back to the original 1st type in the 4th type.
Thank you once again for the opportunity to view them all in one post..
