German Puma-head sword... Help needed! Real or Repro?

Article about: I'm offered this sword! The seller asures me it is an original piece! Can anyone confirm it for me? I know nothing about swords so any kind of help it is more than welcome...

    Hi Adrian! Thank you again for your information! What do you mean about the knot? Is it post war made or it doesn't fit this kind of sword? Also who was supposed to hold this kind of sword?

    Hi Mike, the knot is Police I think you will find. The sword is Heer.

    I agree with Adrian, except I believe that the police knot has red weave throughout the strap. Possibly DRK.

    Fire, police? You guys may well be right, all I know is you dial the same number to get them

    But certainly no place on a Heer sword.

    The Heer sword is not a lion head but a Leopard head Eickhorn model # 1706 "Scharnhorst" from their Feldmarshall series- The Sword knot(Faustreimen) is for the Fire Protection police - Nice sword
