    There were a lot of unmarked pieces like this. Looks to be generic fittings and a very beautiful dark red grip! Patina looks consistant, I would say this looks to be a nice original Heer! Kevin.

    Hi Kevin, I have an army dagger where the bottom of the wreath of the cross guard comes very close to the scabbard band like this one, there is only about a 1-2 mill gap. Were all bands on generic scabbards placed at the same position/distance from throat or did they vary depending on what company was using the generic scabbard. I ask this because on another forum a dagger like this, wreath touching the band, was described as having the wrong scabbard.
