Heer dagger: Real or fake?

Article about: I am with whats been said above also look at the tang on the blade, poor detail in the maker mark, crossguard isn't one recognised with holler, also holler was one of the most copied makers

is the crossguard not a holler as they all have small (ish) beaks but the one shown above is a lot longer?

    Very educative.
Alcoso crossguard on a Holler dagger?
No this isn'right: seems to be generic B or Herder on a Holler dagger.

    Hi Ade,
A great link that I will keep!
When he first posted it, he did not show it apart. Now that I look at it a little closer, (better photos would still help) I do not really like it. The quality of the blade grind is less than I would expect, where the blade would rest against the leather buffer is not even. If this were made by Holler, I would expect better workmanship.
Also I am not sure which Alcoso guard this represents as I do not see a match on the link that you posted. At best, I think either a repro or a parts dagger.

    Oke, here i go again.
None of the shown crossguards looks like the crossguard on the Holler dagger.

I've also read that if you can see a swirling pattern on a Heer
scabbard - rather than a mass of dots - it's fake.........
