I got this dagger in the box lot I won at an auction. It is difficult to see but the maker is Alcoso. It has a "balance" with the word Solingen underneath. Is it authentic and would cleaning up a bit be worth the trouble?

Hi, it is a alcoso 3rd pattern.
This dagger IMO would be for an entry level collector, or a parts dagger.
Shame that nicely colored grip is so damaged.
A light cleaning would help present better, but would not bring it out of the category it falls under. K
This is a correct Alcoso 3rd as Kevin23 says but is in relic condition.. I wouldn't even try to clean or polish it, that would just take it to the next level of abuse! It is an interesting piece now because of its condition and journey through time.. leave as is in my opinion. Best, Kevin.
