Hi all, I picked up my firs heer dagger. In my opinion its in great shape. The only issue is the couple rust spots on the blade. The blade has 100% crossgrainin and the maker is Tiger. The grip is not chip or cracked, and the scabbard is dent free. Let me know what you all think. Thanks

Very nice Heer, i see what you mean about the rust blooms, although i am the last to suggest any type of polishing on blades etc you do need to protect the blade from further tarnishing, there is a product i use that can clean, polish and restore and prevents tarnishing and corrosion, its called SHINE, its a very mild cream cleaner and its easy to apply but it produces great results without damaging the finish, depending on how you wish to preserve this piece, its one way to consider

Thanks for the information! I was thinking about cleaning it with wd-40 then putting ren wax on. But I like you suggestion, where can I order SHINE?

Lastly, I forgot to mention that the leather buffer is still on the blade.

All depends where you are, but a good hardware store should be able to get it for you, its made in Germany but sold in England, the makers are a company called Dursol-fabrik in Solingen, try googling the name and product and see if there are distributors near you

Thanks all. I just wanted to ask one more thing. Are the crossguards by WKC? I read that the Tiger firm did not make its own guards, and bought them.
