Hi all, so I'm looking at two similar Heer daggers. One is a Carl Julius Krebs--the asking price is $350. The other is a Holler, also for $350. I know that Holler is a common maker. What can you tell me about Krebs as far as quality/scarcity/etc. I'm asking because, as you can see below, the scabbard on the Krebs is missing a loop, while the Holler's is intact. Would buying the Krebs for the same price be worth it given the maker? or are the similar enough that I should try for the perfectly intact example? Thanks, Tony

The Holler is in the first 8 pictures, the Krebs is in the last 5.

Not much help, but they are both well priced

Never buy a dagger which is missing a part.

    Go for the first one.

    Cheers, Ade.

Sound advice to be sure, Ade. Didn't know if the maker would potentially make the piece worth the price, even if not completely intact. Thanks, I'll try for the first.

I'll go with Ade on this too. The complete dagger is the better buy,
and I don't think the difference between these makers
would affect the value much, if at all.

(I'd rather have the 'ding' than a missing ring.......!)

These are normally around $450/$500 today in my locale.
    Regards,

    Steve.
