'Salty' Ernst Pack & Sohne dagger.
I picked this up recently at a very good price. It's my first foray into the world of daggers and I am impressed of the build quality and detail. I believe this is known as a type 2 and to me looks like its been together since day one. I have noticed the hanger clips are not as ornate as some. Is this a variation? Any comments would be appreciated.

Nice pick up! The hanger clips are the standard type rather than the 'De Luxe' type, it's just more bling really. You've done allright there I reckon, a nice rig.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Thanks Ned for the quick reply and info. Officers certainly liked their bling.
