Hi TC ...SMF is a fairly common producer with Heer daggers ..and i could not agree more that this dagger is in an lovely untouched state....yet....peruse through some of the threads within this forum..and you will see eye popping mint on some ultra rare daggers.
I am quite sure the Heer gents here will chime in further on your dagger. Thankyou for sharing .

A beautiful example of what is known as one of the ugliest birds on an army dagger, not rare but scarce and only produced at the beginning of production of army daggers in 1935 with the slant grip.
Best Tomaz.

Thank you! I appreciate it!

Larry in this case your not right, sorry my friend.
SMF armies are resonable scarce, a few years back they were the easiest Slants to find, now a day every slant army dagger seems to be hiding.....
SMF only produced this one slant grip model, they didnt got a new contract after their initial production.
I can imagine that, their bird is as stated by Tomaz not the most beautiful one designed
They focussed on their Luftwaffe contracts, which they did very well.
Regards
Ger
