    Default Vet Pick-Up Heer Dagger

I was just given this very nice Heer Dagger by a Vet friend of mine that served in 99th ID. He brough this back along with a Forestry Dagger, what I think is an SS Dagger that has already been given to other family, a Luft Dagger, and a Luger. I think this is all I will be getting due to most of his family wanting the rest. I am glad to have this though as my friend was also the recipient of the Bronze Star for his actions durring the Battle of the Bulge. Thank you all for looking.

    Regards,

    Jeff

Nice score. That's an early one. It's a first style crossguard and I believe it's the earliest maker's mark on Alsosa Heer daggers.

Hi Jeff, very nice, especially, like Steve said, coming from a Veteran.

All that needs to be done is turn it around in the scabbard and tie on the knot correctly.

    Cheers, Ade.

Incorrectly sheathed daggers are a 'Pet Peeve' of Ade's.........................!

Make it right by turning it in the scabbard, and reversing the hangers.
( Daggers are worn on the left side of the wearer ) Perhaps someone
can show a pic of how the portipee is supposed to be attached.
    Regards,

    Steve.
