    Hi Ger.

I noted the cross guard was identified on Wardaggers.Com as being from the 1936 to 1942 period but was wondering if there was any other give away to dating a WKC?

JP the quality of the crossguard regarding material /weight/silvering slowly dropped in time.
When you have a heavily silvered one then your closer to 1936 then when you have a dull potmetal version, more like the Fredericus you showed, they were the last to be made..there is no other way to determen time, as these guards were used during a long period.

    Thanks Ger for your help.

I see suggests early types of WKC with this crossguard can be found with Tapered Tang Blades. So would a Tapered Tang date the dagger to 1936?

    Hi Gents.
Any thoughts on this crossguard being matched with a tapered tang as stated possible on, would a tapered tang also help date the dagger?

Tapered tang sure would date it somewhere in 1936
It weight should be between 375 to 395 gramms
