Been raining all day here. Nothing else to do but play with my photo shop program. I finally figured out how to "split screen".

Anyway...two ET decals, the nicer one on the left is Ken N.. The other is mine. A good study of originals if one cares to look
Notice how the bottom of the left rune swings upward just slightly ? They are not in line. However, the top of the runes are perfectly inline. This is what one wants to see.

Both cracking ET runes David, not much to choose between them. As for the technology, I am clueless with these things! Leon.

Fakers can't get them right. As hard as they try.....can't be done. Worse case one inspects with the USB micro-scope if need be. But a real original one can tell from 6' away.

i'd not noticed the upward swing on the left rune before.
It's almost imperceptible... but it is there - especially with high quality decals like this. Excellent reference points. Thanks,
    Nick

    Default sharp edged repro

Here is a "decent" repro known as the "sharp edge ET". Notice the tips of the runes are pointy & sharp ? Real ET decals have softer, blunter edges. But not a bad repro. See how the bottom runes are in line ? Nice try. These go back to the late 70's , early 80's

I've read about this before a few times but always have a hard time visualizing it. Do you mean the bottom of the left rune is higher or "swings" clockwise? Care to draw some lines on the photo?

I can just imagine some German graphic artist rolling in his/her grave at the minutiae we now scrutinize ....ha, ha

They probably NEVER even knew that the left was higher!!! ( the QC inspectors didn't )
