    Default 12th ANTI-AIRCRAFT DIV' HELMET

Hi, Here's another Anti-aircraft helmet, the 12th. Liner is marked BMB 1940, can't see any marks on the helmet, but I expect it is the same age. Part of the 3rd AA Corp, the 12th AA Div' had 3 brigades, 3rd, 42nd, 63rd. they covered the South-West of Scotland, including the Clyde estuary, & Northern Ireland.

Great to see another A.A. tin hat. Every one raves over para helmets but to my mind these "ordinary" tin hats with their decals on them are much more interesting because you can pinpoint their precise unit and as you have outlined, that units history, thanks for showing, John.

I bet those are not easy to find, nice helmet!

I agree that the shell is the same age as the liner, it looks original and the large head screw on top is the type used on the early war MKII helmets

the late war helmets had small screws, I think it's a true 1940 matching helmet set
