I have been watching for a MKIII for sometime but can't find one in my price range so when I found the 1945 dated MKIV in a garage sale I had to buy it. The shell and liner are both BMB 1945 marked.

Lovely helmet. Especially if you got if for a decent price. In my experience 1945 dated shells often slip under the radar having been paired up with later liners so it is nice to get a 45 dated liner as well. Well done.

The first Mk4's were produced from early 1945-Jan 46, so getting hard to find.

Doubtful they got issued during the war, but it wouldn't have been long after.

The lady I bought the helmet from said that her husband had brought it back when he was left the army in late 45 early 46 but I wasn't sure if that was true since the black rings on the helmet from storage. As always buy the item not the story but always listen to the story.
