Superb examples Mark, I reckon it was hard to choose. My favourite too is the Polish lid.

You really did have a good year for stunning lids Mark, all of them too good to chose between.

As I mentioned previously my fave lid for the the year was a Great War MKI, so I'll show it here any way as its hopefully close enough.

You blokes have got me wanting to buy a MKII or three. I do have one, it was my first piece of militaria bought with my pocket money about a million years ago but like Jerry, I've only bought MKI examples this year.

Not quite correct Tony, I bought a few MKII's and I showed one earlier in this thread but my fave Brit lid of the year was the MKI. You should show your fave even if it is a MKI Tony, everyone would be pleased to see it I am sure.

Yours is up there mate, a very fine example. The condition of the textured paint on mine just is so sweet, a very lucky pick up for me and it came via another forum from Norway, though how it ended up there is a mystery.

Mark, there's nothing wrong with that lid. MKI's and MKII's are like women, they're all attractive but in different ways.

Jerry, I did actually buy a MKII a while back to restore, if I manage to get it done this year I'll post a picture. I have a couple of others which I'll post in the everything else steel helmet thread, providing the pics come out ok.
