    Default Bakelite Mk2 helmet

    Hello everyone,
I would like to share with you this helmet that I found a long time ago in a junk shop.
No sign on the shell or on the liner, but it seems interesting.
I would also like to know if this type of helmets were also used by military units, as I was told, for example: by powders storage operators.
    Thank you for your opinions.

    greetings
    Roberto

I have always thought that there were a private purchase home front option for personal protection, though I might be wrong. A nice helmet and I almost bought one a while back.
    Regards,

As Jerry has said, private purchase for use on the home front.
There are a number of different types of these bakelite helmets.

In great condition too, I wonder what the purchase price was back in WWII.

Whilst I don't know about the "bakelite" / Plasforts....other Commercial MK2s went for between 8 shillings to 12 shillings (according tot he ads I've seen)
