Came across this in a junk store, though it was a junk but the paint looked old etc etc.
So I thought I’d post it and see what you guys think, thanks for looking.

Don't know a lot about these agree the paint has age to it and it doesn't have that forced looked to.
I'd be interested to see what the Brodie experts say. Might end up being a good pickup!

Hello, I’m no expert but I’ve been looking around at camouflaged British helmets and the Camo seems alright to me, I’m happy to be proven wrong though.
Here’s a link to a similar one, although it has three colours it reminds me of the one you have.

Does it have a Canadian made liner in?
I did get a photo that I forgot about.
Yes, Canadian liner, the way the rubber buffer is fixed thought it was.
Might be one of the British helmets issued to the Canadians early in the war, now it's deciding who, and when the paint was applied.
I can't offer any insight into originality, but I am curious why someone would camouflage a lid then paint a whopping big white number on it ?
I appreciate all the replies, and went ahead and purchased the helmet for a good price also picked up a mint Canadian gas mask. The colours had me convinced it was a fake but the example Bodhi posted matched perfectly so I went for it. The liner and chin strap are worth what I payed so I don't think it was a recently make fake. It was a Junk Shop not an antique store, but they had some good stuff lately.
I'll post some more photos tomorrow in natural light.
Thanks again for the help.
Here are some new photos, if anyone what’s anything specific please ask.
