    Default British Mk.2 for Evaluation

    This one has just come into my possession. It seems to have a textured paint finish, although it is difficult to differentiate between that and rust. TTC 1942 Mk.2 Liner and Mk.3(?) Chinstrap. The textured finish obscures the Shell manufacturer markings. I am also confused about the frontal Rank Chevrons with what looks like the letter 'N' above.

    As ever, any comments are gladly received!

    If it's dark brown textured paint, then that should date your helmet from 1943,but a lot of Mk2's were refurbished (repainted dark brown)post war too.
    Sorry, can't help with the marking to the front of your helmet.
