    yes, seeing yours side by side mine should fall under the dark brown one. Do you know why they chose such a difference in colors. Was it due to were the campaign took place.

    The first Mk1* & Mk2's were painted khaki green, then in about 42ish they went over to dark brown. These 2 colours were used in all campaigns of the war.

    Thank you tinlid. This completes all info I need. The paint job on my helmet does seem to be original. Thank you for your help.

    It is a nice original helmet I would have no problem putting it on display
