    good Morning,
I am new to the forum
and I apologize for my English.
    I have a helmet mk4
    1953
    with
    bolt.
    I bought it in Ireland.
    the seller had many helmets
    all
    bolt
    and liner mk3,
    all in good condition
    I do not believe
    that are
    helmets repaired.
    someone
    could say
    something about
    these helmets ...

This looks like a MkIV that was retro fitted with a bolt, to take the MkII or MkIII liners.

The lift the dot" was done away with apparently. Odd. I know of "lift the dot" posts fitted into MkIII's, but not the other way around.

Maybe it was not unusual for the Irish MoD. I do not have knowledge of that.

    Nice helmet!

    Cheers,
    Emile

From my research the Lift the dot came loose and fell out and they couldn't be bothered to put a new one in and they placed a bolt in to hold the liner instead and yours has a little dimple where the lift the dot was attached at one stage.

I also believe that it is
    a characteristic
    of some
Irish helmets (confirmed by seller) ...
    the liner is of '50
even if there are no dates printed
    but only the size (7-1/8)
    and the producer (CCL).

A very keenly priced example of the Turtle helmet here for sale from a forum member, he has some others listed if you check his other items for sale. I was very tempted to buy this one, but I have bought a lot of other items recently so I am not going to. I assume it is a MKIV but very cheap for one of them and an earlyish example I think

A British Mark III Turtle helmet. Looks to be an early example. | eBay
