It's an BMB made shell, date/maker name will be vertical to the rim 2-3" either side of the rim join, mostly.
The service number on the chin strap is for soldiers who served from 1950-)Oct' 1955.
many thanks indeed for the info, had a look but can't find a date but has a faint stamp BMB 078,
    many thanks, John.

What do you guys think about this one? I see olive drab under the damaged textured paint, is this common?

It may have been repainted post war with olive drab, then repainted again with what you see now.
Is the dark brown on the inside the original colour?

I don't know, this one is for sale I don't own it. But I just thought its odd that the bright green showed under it, also the paint sweeps and spoils?
Seller says its all 100% original...

It's definitely been repainted post war, as was quite common with the long service these helmets had.

Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Yes, I think he did that to make it look better, I told the seller that it's a post-war re-issue because of the paint. He deleted the pictures with the green paint and still sells it as original 1943... :/
