Can anybody tell me what kind of US helmet this is?

I have just bought this helmet, but am not very knowledable in US helmets. Any opinions would be welcome & appreciated! You can't tell from the scan, but the part that fits over the head is about half of a globe. I see no stamping, or writing - anywhere. I do not have a camera, just a scanner. Thanks!

This seems to be a US Civil Defense helmet. Used in WW2 and after.

Look at Joseba's site. Even if you don't speak spanish it is worth your while!
