Bravo I am glad it all worked out it always amazes me how taking pictures in natural light can drastically change the appearance of an item I am glad I was wrong and it turned out to still have the war time applied dark brown khaki paint.

Are you selling it then? if so i may be interested so please pm me
A very good named example of the para helmet, the paper tag is really cool to see.
I assume this will be on your ebay site.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Im afraid so, jerry.
I have had a long and fruitless discussion with mrs bananamafia, and apparently there is only so many times that i can use the "its for our sons inheritance" line.
I even suggested selling her car instead as its in worse condition, but that didnt go down well.
cheers
Ed
Yes its pretty interesting, i will try to find out anything i can about Lt sargent before i have to part with it, but it may be a fruitless exercise. In fact i dont even know where to start.
All i know is that the 12th /13th PARA were created I think in the mid 50's and i think a TA Bn but i wondered if Lt sargent may have served in the paras before this.
Anyway i give it a shot!
thankyou everyone for your comments.
