Hi Guys, here we have the classic "Tommy" helmet as worn by all British and Commonwealth troops in WW2.

The maker markings are for A.G./.C.or Aluminum Goods Company

    Dated 1942.

Even though these are marked as MkI, they are actually MkII helmets.

    Cheers, Ade.

Whats the story on the "bump" on the top, I've seen some with and some without.

Hi Neil, the "bump" is the screw with secures the liner in place.

All British helmets have it, just some are more more noticable than others.

    Cheers, Ade.

hello ade - like some others I'm more familiar w/german material - thanks for the lessons!

I've a "Mark I", 1940-dated and "G.S.W." with a "C" (? - it's partly under the helmet rim.) and it's got the "broad arrow- C" stamped in white on the liner. it's in gray 'sted of greenish I've seen on others. seems a $75 USD item, yes? cheers, david

Hi David, "GSW" is General Steel Wares.

Price sounds about right I think?

    Cheers, Ade.

Sorry, I don`t mean to be disagreeable with my first post But that`s two different companies.
That helmet is made by the "Aluminum Goods Company".
"General Steelwares" (GSW) is an entirely different company. Cheers! ~MERK

Thanks for welcome! Those A.G./C made helmets are the least common of the Canuck lids, and don`t turn up all that often even here in Canada.
    Cheers! ~MERK
