Despatch rider helmet

Hello chaps,

just spotted this nice looking DR helmet for sale with a flash which looks familiar to me. I do think it's a post war paint job though as I believe DR helmets were painted dark brown in 1944. Any ideas on the flash?

Do you agree that the dark green paint looks a post war job? There's some evidence of earlier khaki poking through there but according to Tinlid they were painted over dark brown in '44.

Aaron would know better than I, but if the price is right, even a late or post war repaint with an original flash has gotta be worth adding to anyones collection.

They were factory finished in khaki green from 42 to 44, although I have just seen one 43 dated, then factory finished in dark brown to the end of the war.
But they kept on producing these helmets through the 40's into the 50's, so could be made post war or just painted post war on a WW2 helmet.
