Fisher & Ludlow Ltd MKII helmet. Question about markings
Article about: Hallo, I have one helmet whit this productor mark. FL. 408 1941. I think that is Fisher & Ludlow Ltd but I'm not sure. I compare this whit the other productors marks but I have mismatch.

F&L stamps are often / usually found at the rear of the shell of the helmet...and are usually "F&L"...could your "FL" simply be a coincidental steel batch number?
-
Steel batch number should be 409. At the left of FL. there is nothing.
I compare the shape of mark whit other MKII productor but I have not found any correspondence.
So I only thought about F&L.
-
F&L have also this shape of mark
-
I have 2 which are marked "FL 1/1940" at the rear...the usual place for a Fisher & Ludlow stamp but there is no other 3 digit number - I believe these are Fisher and Ludlow helmets
-
Thanks!

F&l 102 1/1939

I feel hard done by, I've had/got loads of F&L stamped Mk2's, even Mk3's are stamped F&L.
But no FL
