Flashed British lid found during the Battle of Normandy, 1944
Hello,
This is the British helmet my grandfather found during the Battle of Normandy, in 1944. The lid was found in or around the little Norman village of Couvains (Orne) and bears a Royal Army Service Corps flash. The blue has turned dark blue, almost black, but I'm convinced this is a RASC flash.
Best regards,
Didier

Very nice. I have seen another recently on a different forum with the same flash that has been identified as being for the RASC.

No problem. I was not sure if it would work, but hopefully it has and you can view the Helmet. If not I could copy the pics and post them here if you want?

As a matter of fact, I had to register to be able to view the pics, but thank you all the same

I would agree with the flash being RASC. There are a couple of examples of the RASC flash in this thread: British Mk.1* steel helmet
