help strange helmet

hi all can u help.?
have had in my posestion a steel helmet panted black with the letters m.f.t in white on the front the inside is white and has a leater liner,have a arp hat and is quite simler .
am stating to collect home front things but am puzzeld to what m.f.t. could mean,my wife will also punch me on the nose if i say once more"you no it could be.........."anyway hope you can help.

Hi Jelley,
The only way to find out is to post some pictures, even then we could only tell you what type of helmet it is. The M.F.T. could mean a factory or some business, so you would never find out.

only tyhing i could match to mft was military field training but i dont know if thats correct

Hi Jelley,
As it's a black helmet, it's more than likely to be civilian. The last letter T. could be for transport, or it could be something completely different. Are there any dates on the helmet & liner?

No dates I'm afraid, but the rim has 2 rivets in holding the chinstrap & liner. The inside of the helmet is white. The helmet shape is slightly elliptical, not a complete circle.

Probably be a fairly rare bird ............!

The date should be somewhere on the 2 inner bands.

hi all had a look inside the liner no date but a square stamp with it looks like O.R. and then underneath BB. No.
