    Didn't someone say the BS stamped rims weren't the first raw edge helmets? Very nice helmet mind

    If it is BS then that would be for: W Beardmore & Co Ltd.
    Whether some enterprising soul used his own WW1 helmet for the Fire Watcher service, or whether they came like this I'm not sure. As most refurbished Mk1's have newer chinstrap lugs, Mk1 & Mk2.
    Very nice either way.

    Yes, it is what it is, a great piece of history and unusual too.

    Hi, looks a nice and unusual helmet, looks like a vets WW1 helmet that he "pulled" out of his shed and re-used after fitting a new liner? Leon.

    Very nice and unusual ex-war office pattern(I think as it has the rectangular non clip cornered chinstrap lugs).
