chris bottom right british made MK 1 issued from sept-1916 with rim added and new chinstrap lugs+liner over 7.5 million were made, will have sheffield steel lot number and batch stamped on there.regards dave.P.S these were the helmets that the U.S.E.F acquired from the british 700,000 i think, until US production had caught up.

From what I can see of it, it looks like a British MK.11 shell and a British MK.111 chin strap with a Dutch liner.

This helmet is a Belgian post war clone of the British MkII. It was probably reissued to the navy or Gendarmerie, because of the dark blue overpaint.

In the top of the shell the screwhole should show a slight cavity. In the liner strap you should be able to see the acronym: ABL, which stands for Armee Belge Belgisch Leger in French and Dutch.

    Cheers,
    Emile

The liner is Belgian but are you sure about the shell it has MK.111 chin strap lugs and the chin strap still looks like a British MK.111, did the Belgians do an exact copy.
