Had to go into town today and noticed this in an antiques shop, the only military item they had so paid the money and the rest is history.

Nicely marked on the shell and the liner.

I don't think I've seen an A.M. Co liner before, could be Austin Motors Co which is a well know maker of the helmet shells.

Zuckerman's are pretty interesting in shape. What were they used for?

Hi Kyle, they were used by civilians who served as firewatchers etc.

    Nice lid Jerry.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks all.

I had one of these about 10 years back which had been painted an off white, so good to get one with original paint.

It might have been a officer being white, any letters on the front of it.

No letters and it was a glossy creamy white. It came with a MKII painted in the same colour. Both showed a bit of age but I did not think they were WWII painted.

    Thanks Col.

Just need to get a good combat lid for my collection of British helmets and other headgear. Then need to get the other headgear types I am missing, too many to list but getting there slowly.
