A very hard to find CMP T.C. (Traffic Control) Mk1*.
It's had a repaint over the original khaki green with an blue oblong within which is T.C in red to the front only.
The helmet looks to have been made by Harrison Bros & Howson as the stamp seems to be HH, has anyone else got an HH or seen this done before.
MK1 liner has no date that I can see, just the quality control stamp, the Mk1 chin strap lugs have been clipped to make it harder for the Mk1 chin strap to slip out of.
It has an white M stamped inside to donate that the rim is magnetic.

    A very uncommon lid!

The TC wing of CMP only existed from 1941 to 1946 and its' members did not wear the usual red top on their SD caps unles they were qualified in "police duties". Without doubt when the wing was disbanded their helmet insignia would have been removed at least by over painting but more likely by physical removal and the helmets would continue in use.

    Nice find.

    Regards

    Mark

Thanks for the comments, and the history of the unit, which only lasted a short time.
