    Default Mk2 Ambulance

A khaki green factory finish painted Mk2 with an A to the front for Ambulance.
Very hard to still find in it's original colour as the majority of home front/ARP helmets were painted black sometime in 1939.
Scratched on the side is Derek 1940 RIP,which seems to have been on there a long time.
The shell is dated 1939 & made by BMB, liner 1938 & was made by VERO.

Very nice Aaron and good to see it still with its shiny paint. Is this form of A typical for ambulance use, as I have one with an A, but it is a lot smaller and also has numbers in combination with it?

I have one in this colour, another early example with a 39 bmb shell and a 38 Vero liner and also has something scratched on it.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.

Very nice helmet Aaron, nice to see an early tan one. I guess that the owner was "Derek" and as he unfortunately lost his life, the helmet was never "upgraded" with a later black over paint. Leon.

As with all ARP & home front helmets the markings are all different, styles, fonts, & size. Although they were supposed to have been the same. You have official, semi official, & non official markings.

Here's another still in it's original khaki green paint, an RP/E, Repair Party Electrical or Electricity.
