Hi Aaron thanks for showing a lovely example the construction on the Hessian cover is very reminiscent of the one I added to my collection last year.

    Regards Mark
Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!

Great looking Helmet Aaron, the hessian/woven setup looks fantastic,I've never even seen an early woven net for sale, are they really that rare?there only seems to be the mid-war knotted types available in vast numbers......

Yes, these hessian covers are quite rare, Mark has one plus a few other collectors.
The early woven nets are also hard to find but they are out there.
Plenty of the knotted type though.

Aaron is correct on both counts the early woven nets are out there but are quite hard to source I recently just added one to my collection it came as part of a deal on a Canadian DR /HSAT conversion.
And as to the hessian covers they can be a nightmare to authenticate as they have been widely faked and reproduced over the years so have to be looked at very carefully and then a leap of faith may still be required with out provenance which is the case of the example shown here but it is evident that both have been on this Mk II together for eons.

    Regards Mark
