    Default Mk2 Group 8 Control

The nerve centre of the Civil Defence was the control centre, In these places the controller & the heads of the various ARP services could control their respective services to area's where they were most needed.
Group 8 being for Wales with Cardiff the HQ.
There would have been a large staff in the centres, telephonists, clerks, messengers & liaison officers.
Can't make out a date on the shell due to thickness of paint but the liner is dated 1940 & made by TTC.

Nice lid Aaron first time I have ever seen a CD Mk II like this one I can only assume it would be quite rare do to the nature of the position you must be quite chuffed to add it to your collection.

    Regards Mark K
Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.

Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!

Thought you might find this one interesting Jerry, Mark, I've had this helmet quite awhile, probably 6-7 years. When I got it Brit helmets on this forum were not flavour of the month, whereas now there is a lot more interest. Actually probably one of the best forums for Brit & Commonwealth helmets around at the moment.

Good to see the rise in interest in British helmets and other items IMHO. Hopefully this will only increase.

Thanx for showing it Aaron and I do believe you are correct there seems to be more interest as of late towards commonwealth helmets on the forum
I have noticed it reflected in the prices that helmets are bringing in the market place as well.
