Well, either it belongs to Friedrich-Berthold, or it is a factory guard helmet. I would say factory guard because of the 'LD' I think I see in the middle.

The decal is definitely a company logo of some sort.

I read it as F B E Co Ld, and the only company I can think of which has all those letters is the Franco-British Electrical Company Ltd, from Hendon, UK. They made all kinds of things including, clocks, aircraft parts and bayonet scabbards for the British war effort.

This is just an educated guess, though...

I agree, this is my opinion that the fire brigade, and it's very high quality decal instead of a simple painted logo. I think that this image should be well known.

Definitely not fire brigade, in my opinion. They would not have a 'Co' or 'Ld' in any of their logos. I think Rob's suggestion is much more likely.

It's definitely NOT Fire Brigade. Fire services in the UK were centralised as part of either the NFS or AFS, and their logos are well known.

Agree that it is for a company, not national fire brigade, though I read it as FB & Co L(t)d. I have a friend who has many dozens of these type helmets and even fairly small local companies would have their logo on a helmet.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.
