Rough texture, green painted SA Mk II with a Jaeger Rand 1940 dated liner. Not the usual smooth green paint surface. An unit badged: 1 10. I haven't got the faintest clue what kind of formation it could refer to. Any hints?

No idea of the markings 1 10, but has nice wear all round, which is want you want to see.

i am wondering wether it could be some sort of Royal Navy tac sign?

Here is an original S.A. net. This is wartime and was used in the desert ! It is on a British made helmet. The history of the helmet is known,Please study it because this is what a genuine one looks like. All the others you see for sale are post-war. It was mine and Aaron's pleasure to handle this helmet yesterday. It belong to Marcus Cotton.
