MK3 helmet original?

Article about: Dear Members, I"ve been offered this "Turtle" helmet. Might it be original? It has specific paint and a MK2 liner..... Thanks in advance! Greetings Jelmer

    Hello
    The shell is a MK3 turtle pattern
    It is completly overpainted but in good condition
    If it is cheap I would buy it

    I agree and I am pretty sure that this shade of brown was used for camouflage patterns on British equipment of the period. At unit level this is not altogether unbelievable.

    It seem overpainted
    The rough paint must be underneath

    Allright Thank you very much... it is for sale for 125... I am trying to get it for less.... but what do I have to do when I buy it to get the original paint back from?

    I think the paint is probably period applied by soldiers in the field.
    It just is not the factory finish but this is true of just about every steel helmet ever issue!

    Once a soldier gets hold of it he will paint it how he likes within the boundaries of official policy!

    As I said, the colour looks like a period shade to me.
