Hello-short side is the front, long 'duck tail' is the rear-intended to give protection to the back of the neck but tends to dig in to the back when in the prone position.
look a the angle of the liner that will tell you front from back
i am a bitn troubled becouse i dont fully undwerstand you question
what is it you actualy want to know
What i mean is when its on your head, which is the front and which is the back?I think i may know now..having looked inside the liner it says 'FRONT' !
Hi,
Also where the rim is fitted around the helmet, the join is normally to the rear. Sometimes also where the helmet is dated & the makers name is stamped, is also in the rear. The MkIII, the liner is fitted with a nut & bolt, also the chin strap securing lugs are fitted by a rivet that is about 2 1/4 from the rim. The MkIV, the liner is fixed by a rivet, plus also the rivet that fixes the chin strap securing lugs is closer to the rim.
