No idea on who M&C were, but the few I've seen have been 1939 dated.
Very unusual to find an unknown maker of the Mk2 liner in that year, as most unknown makers seem to be in 1940, & more so in 1941. That's when production of the Mk2 helmet really took off & they needed extra manufactures to cope with demand.

    Default Mk2 No.2C Medical Officer

A standard grey painted No.2C with in white MO to front & rear, Medical Officer.
Of note is the different font used, as of 41/42 it was practice to add the initials to the rear of the helmet as well as the front, making identification easier at the scene of an incident.
Shell is dated 1940, & BMB made, Mk1 liner is 39 dated & made by HELMETS Ltd.

    Default Mk2 R.A.C

A Mk2 with heavy textured repaint, & on the side a flash of the RAC. Normally on an helmet it would be a split triangle yellow/red, & the arm of service strip on your sleeve, but here it's the other way around?
On the Mk1 liner which is dated 1938 is ink stamped A.A 6005 which I guess is the man's service No. which if I'm not wrong is for the hussars.
The shell is stamped JSS & 39.

    Default MK2 Ambulance Driver

Although the initials (AD) are the same as mine, they stand for Ambulance Driver, below the red circle white cross.
Both shell & liner are dated 1939 & made by BMB.

    Default Mk2No.2C GPO

A Mk2 No.2C issued to the GPO (General Post Office) most likely for someone like an engineer repairing the broken cables after bombing.
The F is of some significance, but I don't know what, maybe group F of engineers, or area F that he had to care for?
Standard grey paint for an No.2C, dated 1940 & probably made by BMB, liner also dated 1940 & is made by BMB.
The chin strap (Mk2 A) is stamped with an M for magnetic, only to be used on home front helmets.
