    ...oh there's more Malta-camo helmets than there were soldiers out there...AND civilians.....and sheep...and fish...and goats...they all must've had helmets if Ebay numbers are anything to go by! :-)

    A search of his name on forces war record came up with.
    GPL Mansfield, rank, lieutenant. year 1950. unit Royal Artillery.
    But whether it's the same person as yours??
    Nice helmet.

    Hi ,I have always classed this as my Dunkirk helmet,it has two thick black stripes hopefully you can see them in the pics,then at some stage it has had a sand mix camo added ,shell is dated 39 but the liner is dated 42 so it has been replaced maybe at the same time as the sand camo?looking forward to hear your views on this one,thanks all,Verner.
