    hiya guys

    got this front seamed swivel bail M-1 off ebay for 15 it came with a 1976 liner & no chin straps but i thought i wasent a bad price ?????

    as you can see not in the best of conditions & quite a few layers of paint.

    but as i sat looking at it & seeing all those layers of paint i started wondering & thought well i never payed much for it so why not & i took some paint stripper to it................................................ .........this is what i found the rank bar at the front & remnants of 2x decals but sadly these are to far gone to try & ID them, yeah i know its not as cool as a finding medic panels but for me its still pretty cool

    Hi Nick,

    15......... nice one mate , with the bonus of the rank n decals as well , occasionally Ebay is the best thing since sliced bread, i bought an M1 late last year, which was listed as a late 80's model, it turned out to be a front seam MCcord, but it did come with a Danish liner!!
    Keep em coming, i like a good M1.

    ebay does come up trumps from time to time i'll get some pic's sorted out of the other that turned up today at some point which was a another good ebay find

    That's cool. Normally I wouldn't be thrilled about a Lieutenants rank but I believe they made lieutenants differently then as opposed to when I was in. I wonder what unit that decal is from? I just did a quick search on us ww two insignia on google but no luck, but there are a ton of patches to go through. Really nice helmet I like it.

    You can pick up the odd good M1 bargain on Ebay, now and again. I will say though I used to be able to buy up wartime M1's down at the local Wednesday flea market in the mid 1990's most were front seam swivel bale helmets but I did get one fixed bale with the original straps still on it for 15.00 however that was not such a good deal in back then.
