Article about: Picked this up for \\$65 to bad it's been painted red so is there a safe way to remove the paint without damaging original paint if there's any left Annoyed from this ads?

    Nice helmet, i do like USAAF gear, a great price too, as for the paint i hear using paint thinners and a cotton swab to remove the paint is quite effective but it does take time.

    Ok here new pictures of the flak helmet, I was going to strip the red off until I found out that this was used on a b17 air base as a fire helmet so taking the red paint off will ruin the history of this helmet so it stays red which I sorts like
