I wanted to know what these markings on the shell of one of my helmets meant. All I know is it is a british or canadian helmet made in 1942. Can Anyone tell me what the other markings mean?
The markings are C L / C and then a 50 then 1942

Hi, It's Canadian, C.L/C, Canadian Lamp Company. The 50 is probably the steel batch number, 1942 is 1942. Hope this helps. Aaron.
Thanks! What does "Canadian Lamp Company" Mean? Who were they? And is it a Mk1 or Mk2 or what...
Hi, It's a Mk2, CL/C I think made head lamps for cars in the 20s & 40s, google it & you should find out more. Aaron.
The company itself is long gone, but you can check out some pics of the place your helmet was made at the following links.

If I lived close to this factory I'd be checking out some of those filing cabinets for some production information on MKII's...has to be something there.
